COVERiTe 20kg
COVERiTe 20kg
COVERiTe® is a Silane-Modified Polymer based on a silane technology for the impregnation of substrates or as a thin layer colour coating.
COVERiTe® Has low odour, making it suitable for use in areas adjacent to those that are occupied.
COVERiTe® imparts high stain-resistance when applied as an impregnation or as a coating (e.g against stains like coffee, tea, ketchup, orange juice, ink, red wine, household and engine oils etc).
Additional Product Data
COVERiTe® is a Silane-Modified Polymer based on -silane technology for the impregnation of substrates or as a thin layer colour coating.
Surfaces exhibit high strength, are exceedingly scratch-resistant and impervious to typical cleaning agents. COVERiTe® contains no VOC’s which fully complies with the GBCSA’s requirements for a “Green” sealant COVERiTe® is resistant to moisture once cured
COVERiTe® is UV stabilised and guaranteed not to yellow
COVERiTe® is a 1 component system and does not require any additional catalysts
COVERiTe® is available in 1kg, 2kg, 5kg, 10kg and 20kg plastic pails and are clearly labelled as such.
CEMENT-BASED SUBSTRATES:
- The substrate must be structurally sound.
- Free of loose granular particles.
- Free of excess dust.
- Dry – screed moisture levels must be below 3% using a VI-D4 Moisture meter and or below 75%RH. • Free of any contamination, laitance, old adhesive, grease, oils, wax, sealers, and any substance that can inhibit adhesion.
- Further subfl oor preparation information can be made available on request.
SCREED MOISTURE:
Should the screed moisture levels exceed that stipulated above, it is imperative that the substrate be prepared with VAPORiTe® Plus, or VAPORiTe® Premium depending on the application and complexity thereof. Further information pertaining to the correct product for the application can be made available on request.
SUBFLOOR SURFACE FINISH:
The subfl oor surface should be of a good, fl at, smooth appearance. Due to the glossy characteristics of Coverite all the imperfections in the subfl oor will be highlighted
It is highly recoemeded to apply Coverite onto a surface prepared using Levelite
COVERiTe® formulations whether for impregnation or coating, the surface must be dry and clean. To defi ne the optimum amount and to check applicative behavior it is recommended to prepare a separate test surface. The material can be applied with a mohair roller or a brush. Airless spray application is equally possible. The open time of the formulation examples outlined here is ~ 20 min depending on temperature and humidity. A second application (after 24 hours) will be necessary to attain a homogeneous finish. Depending on the absorbency behavior of the substrate ~ 50 – 150 g/m2 are typically required for the first layer. In the case of a second layer, by far a lower amount of material will be needed.
- Ensure a stable ambient temperature is maintained for a minimum of 24 hours pre, during and post Installation
- protect the floor covering from direct sunlight, vast fluctuations in temperature and moisture at all times.
- Allow the adhesive 24 hours to set before applying any load to the floor covering, this Includes but is not limited to furniture.
- The use of chair protectors is strongly recommended to minimise ware on the entire fl ooring system. • Walk off mats are also recommended to minimise soiling.
- COVERiTe® must be stored in a cool dry place.
- COVERiTe® must be stored between 5°c and 30°c, and protected from frost, direct sunlight and the elements.
• COVERiTe® will last for 6 months unopened.
Coverite has an approximate coverage rate of 5m²/litre when applied on a LEVELiTe® surface in 2 coats • The coverage is highly dependant on the application surface and application method
