GRIPiTe H80 15KG – LVT application
GRIPiTe H80 15KG – LVT application
GRIPiTe® H80 is a one-part silicone modified polymer hybrid adhesive.
Additional Product Data
GRIPiTe®H80 is moisture curing, which makes it totally resistant to water and any residual moisture GRIPiTe®H80 is available in 15kg pails.
GRIPiTe®H80 can be used for the installation of:
- synthetic grass to concrete and other substrates
- LVT’s (Luxury Vinyl Tile or Plank). in areas where their dimensional stability may be compromised. (In front of windows and doorways, where moisture may be of concern. such as walk in fridges, wet areas In shopping complexes or where water from the surface may affect Integrity of adhesives below fl oor coverings.
- Engineered and solid wood to cementitious substrates
- Should you be unsure as to the material and adhesive to utilise in your application please consult with the iTe Products technical team.
GRIPiTe®H80 Has low odour, making it suitable for use in areas adjacent to those that are occupied. GRIPiTe®H80 contains no VOC’s, is solvent-free and completely compliant with all GBCSA green building requirements, and can be used either indoors or outdoors.
GRIPiTe®H80’s solvent-free composition allows It to be used in applications onto waterproofing systems, such as torch-on”, bitumen and acrylic this can however not be guaranteed as the long-term effects of plasticizer migration are not fully understood as temperature fluctuation in these applications is outside of the manufacturers control. Its flexibility aids in preventing the glue-line from fracturing under low levels of expansion and contraction of the waterproofing system. Before installing over the waterproofing, consult with the manufacturers of the synthetic grass and waterproofing systems for any special precautions or specifi c instructions.
The preparation of the subfloor is critical to ensure successful installation of any floor covering and must therefore be strictly adhered to, to ensure longevity and performance of the floor and floor covering for the duration of Its lifespan.
- The substrate must be structurally sound.
- Free of loose granular particles.
- Free of excess dust.
- Dry – where wood or absorbent floor coverings are concerned screed moisture levels must be below 3% using a VI-D4 Moisture meter and or below 75%RH.
- Adhere to the floor covering manufacturer’s specification for moisture levels.
- Free of any contamination, laitance, old adhesive, grease, oils, wax, sealers, and any substance that can inhibit adhesion.
- Adhere to the floor covering manufacturer’s specification for fl oor flatness conformity. • The floor temperature must be maintained constantly above 10°c and below 30°c during and after the application, flash-off, and final drying of the adhesive.
- the floor temperature must not fluctuate more than 19°c from the Initial temperature reading during Installation.
- dimensionally unstable products should be protected from direct sunlight, excessive fluctuations in temperature and humidity before during and after Installation.
Further subfloor preparation information can be made available on request.
SCREED MOISTURE
Should the screed moisture levels exceed that stipulated above, and that mandated by the fl oor covering manufacturer it is imperative that the substrate be prepared with VAPORiTe Plus, or Premium depending on the application and complexity thereof. Further information pertaining to the correct product for the application can be made available on request.
SUBFLOOR SURFACE FINISH
The subfl oor surface must conform to the requirements set out by the fl oor covering manufacturer to ensure the fl oor covering maintains Integrity throughout its life span. should the surface not conform to that required, the subfl oor can be rectifi ed utilizing the appropriate LEVELiTe self-levelling compound.
GRIPiTe®H80 is applied with the predetermined notched trowel.
The notch size is dependent on the type of material being Installed (refer to usage for further detail)
ARTIFICIAL TURF
A band of adhesive of 200 to 300mm wide is spread along the joins, covering both sides of the sheet, and around the perimeter. It may be deemed necessary to apply 200mm bands every metre across the width of the sheet.
Refer to the relevant manufacturers fitting Instructions of the floor covering for more detail.
GRIPiTe®H80 is poured onto the floor and evenly spread with the A2 notched trowel.
- the notched trowel must be held perpendicular to the floor surface to ensure the correct volume of adhesive is applied.
- GRIPiTe®H80 must NOT be allowed to flash off and the floor covering must be laid Into the wet adhesive.
- Note: Do not apply GRIPiTe®H80 to an area bigger than that which can be fitted within the working time of the adhesive.
1.4.3 RUBBER SHEETING
- GRIPiTe®H80 is poured onto the floor and evenly spread with the B2 notched trowel. • the notched trowel must be held perpendicular to the floor surface to ensure the correct volume of adhesive is applied.
- GRIPiTe®H80 must NOT be allowed to flash off and the floor covering must be laid Into the wet adhesive.
Note: Do not apply GRIPiTe®H80 to an area bigger than that which can be fitted within the working time of the adhesive.
1.4.4 WOOD / ENGINEERED WOOD
- GRIPiTe®H80 is evenly spread with the B9 notched trowel. consult with the floor covering manufacturer for specifics on the bonding method to use In your application.
- the notched trowel must be held perpendicular to the floor surface to ensure the correct volume of adhesive is applied.
- GRIPiTe®H80 must NOT be allowed to flash off and the floor covering must be laid Into the wet adhesive.
Note: Do not apply GRIPiTe®H80 to an area bigger than that which can be fitted within the working time of the adhesive.
GRIPiTe®H80 is moisture curing, the open time or working time for the adhesive is between 15 and 30 minutes. The higher the moisture the faster the setting.
The material must be laid into the adhesive while it is wet.
Apply pressure to the material in order to ensure good contact between the underside of the material and the adhesive and transfer of adhesive onto the back of the material
Once placed, the material should not be moved during the setting process.
GRIPiTe®H80 is pre-mixed and does not require mixing. When the container is opened for a second or third time, any film on the surface must be removed.
NB! As this product does not have initial tack it will not grab onto the material and thus this adhesive requires pressure to be applied while it is setting. the pressure should be applied for approximately 20 minutes depending on climatic conditions.
- allow sufficient transfer onto the back of the floor covering (If the floor covering is laid in too late insufficient transfer occurs, and the adhesion is compromised and weak).
All data supplied is based on laboratory tests conducted at 20ºC, and 50% Relative Humidity. On-site atmospheric conditions may require adaptation to suite circumstances.
GRIPiTe®H80 will cover between 1m² and 3m² per kg depending on the smoothness of the substrate and the notch size of the trowel.
Artificial turf = B9 notch size
Engineered wood / solid wood = B9 notch size
LVT’s = A2 notch size
For Information pertaining to other applications please consult with the ITe Products technical team. The notch has a life span of approximately 50²m per side (if supplied by iTe Products) and It Is therefore Imperative they be maintained to ensure sufficient adhesive is applied to the surface.
GRIPiTe®H80 must be stored in a cool dry place.
GRIPiTe®H80 must be stored between 5°c and 30°c, and protected from frost, direct sunlight and the elements.
GRIPiTe®H80 will last for 12 months unopened. once opened use as quickly as possible as it will start setting In the container.
- Ensure the floor covering is properly acclimatised prior to Installation, as per floor covering manufacturers recommendations, and installation instructions prior to use.
- Ensure a stable ambient temperature is maintained for a minimum of 24 hours pre, during and post Installation to allow the adhesive to fully cure and minimise any expansion and shrinkage within the floor covering material.
- Protect the floor covering from direct sunlight, vast fluctuations in temperature and moisture at all times.
- Allow the adhesive 24 hours to set before applying any load to the floor covering, this Includes but is not limited to furniture.
