Additional Product Data
SEALiTe®2K is a multi-purpose, two component, highly flexible, non-toxic cement-based damp-proof sealing compound and waterproofing system.
SEALiTe®2K is suitable for waterproofing applications, and where minor cracks or joins are present, with the incorporation of SEALiTe®2K Membrane.
SEALiTe®2K is highly UV resistant and requires minimal maintenance after application. SEALiTe®2K allows for substrate joint movement, whilst retaining its waterproofing integrity. SEALiTe®2K Excellent tensile strength with high flexibility properties.
SEALiTe®2K Exceptional durability.
SEALiTe®2K Excellent adhesion to rock, metal and concrete surfaces.
SEALiTe®2K is Non-Toxic and non-flammable.
SEALiTe®2K No special storage or ventilation ris equired during application, clean up or waste disposal.
The preparation of the surface is critical to ensuring a successful installation and therefore must be strictly adhered to. This will ensure the longevity and performance of the product.
- The substrate must be structurally sound
- Free of loose granular particles
- Free of excess dust
- Free of any contamination, laitance, old adhesive, grease, oils, wax, sealers, and any substance that can inhibit adhesion.
- The surface temperature must be maintained constantly above 10°c during the application. • The surface temperature be maintained constantly below 30°c during the application. The temperature control measure is to ensure adequate adhesion and allow the applicator the ability to apply the product with ease. If the application falls outside of these temperature ranges, the workability of the product may be affected in terms of viscosity and open time of the product.
SEALiTe®2K can be applied using a lamb’s wool roller, block brush, paint brush, or screeded with a fl at trowel at a rate of approximately 1kg/m² per coat, a minimum of two coats are required.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS FOR SEALITE®2K INCLUDE:
- Water Retaining structures (fishponds, reservoirs, water canals etc.)
- Waterproofing under tiles in showers and balconies
- Concrete roofs/concrete slabs
- Damp proofing
- Waterproofing on retaining walls
- Negative pressure applications
- Damp proofing in Showers, Walls, Retaining Walls and Flower Boxes
- Sealing of Parapet walls (SEALiTe®2K Membrane must be used)
- Fixing of Concrete Water Holding structures (SEALiTe®2K Membrane must be used) • For Restoration work in Irrigation Canals.
NOTE: Any cracks or expansion joints that have a movement greater than 1mm in the structure must be bridged with the SEALiTe®2K Membrane. Once the membrane is stuck on SEALiTe®2K must be allowed to cure for 1 hour at least. Once cured a second coat must be added to cover the membrane completely.
The system must be allowed to dry for at least 3 days before water can be added back into the water holding structure.
- SEALiTe®2K powdered product must be mixed with the milky white liquid supplied at a ratio of 1:1 one bag of powder to one bag of liquid
- SEALiTe®2K can be mixed by hand, using a paddle stick and drill or by mixing machine until it is lump-free and of a uniform consistency.
- SEALiTe®2K must be kept out of direct sunlight and intense heat once mixed to ensure the pot life is sustained.
Note: the powder must always be added to the liquid polymer.
Do not ingest. Wear rubber gloves, approved dust mask and goggles when spraying SEALiTe®2K onto wall surfaces. In the event of contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Seek medical advice if irritation or discomfort persists. For further information, consult the relevant health and safety data sheet.
